Difference between OpenVZ, XEM and KVM.

1) OpenVZ is a OS Level virtualization meaning it runs on the Hostnodes Kernel. It can run only Linux VPS

2) KVM is now the Virtualization technology preferred by Red hat. Its better than Xen. It supports full virtualization meaning windows can be installed on VPS. But can be installed on CPU having hardware level virtualization only.

3) Xen comes in 2 variants - one is Paravirtualization which means it will use the HostNodes Kernel and runs linux only
Xen Hypervisor runs only if your CPU supports hardware level virtualization.
